Q: If I volunteer, how much time do I need to give?
A: As much as you want. We understand work and family commitments come first. Generally, members work one 4-hour shift every few weeks
Q: How much will it cost me?
A: We provide training as we appreciate you volunteering your time to assist the community.
Q: What qualifications will I receive?
A: We train all of our members in EMT emergency care (First Responder certificate II and EMT certificate IV). In addition to this, we also participate in workshops such as pre-hospital trauma life support (PHTLS).
Q: What will I have to do?
A: We have training sessions for all working crew and it’s a good idea to attend to maintain skills. While on duty, you will be apart of a team involved in patient care.
Q: Is there a selection criteria?
A: We try to include all who want to volunteer and everyone is welcome to apply. You will need to have a POLICE CHECK, Drivers Licence and may have to undertake a medical to volunteer with the on road ambulance crew.
Q: Are you a 24 hour service?
A: At this stage we are an out of hour’s service. Our operational hours are from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
